This project centers on a series of numbered, classified, and standardized CANDLE devices, constructing a speculative system that examines energy intake, eating, and the protocolization of survival. Here, the candle is no longer a symbolic light source but is redefined as an ignitable, computable, and governable energy interface: heat becomes nutrition, combustion becomes ingestion, and time is quantified as a unit of continuous output.
The system includes Medi-CANDLE, Ration-CANDLE, Gourmet-CANDLE, and Elixir-CANDLE, corresponding respectively to medical care, rationing, everyday sustenance, and cognitive enhancement scenarios. Each candle is composed of a Nutri-Burn Unit, an Ingest- Flame Unit, and a Caloric Ignition Module. Its formal and technical language draws from medical devices, industrial manuals, and food engineering standards, emphasizing parameters, tolerances, calibration, and recovery protocols. Within this system, energy is no longer obtained through eating in a conventional sense; instead, the individual approaches, ignites, waits, and extinguishes—participating in a managed system where survival is enacted through compliance rather than consumption.
