E-Ware 2024, Sculpture

E-Ware is a series that merges the visual language of digital interfaces with the material history of porcelain. Familiar elements from the online environment—search pages, email inboxes, documents, and browser windows—are translated into ceramic-like surfaces where fragments of blue-and-white patterns appear to interrupt or overwrite the digital image.

Rather than simply decorating technology with traditional motifs, the works stage a collision between two systems of knowledge and circulation: the historical global trade of porcelain and the contemporary flow of information across the internet. The porcelain patterns behave like a material “infection,” spreading across clean digital interfaces and disrupting their seamless functionality.

Through this hybrid form, E-Ware imagines digital culture as a future archaeological layer—where today’s interfaces appear as artifacts embedded within older material traditions, blurring the boundary between technological surfaces and historical craft.
